Join fellow Oilers for a special morning of connection, recognition, and championship basketball at the University of Dayton Arena during the 2026 OHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament.

During the morning program, we will recognize the 2026 recipient of the Dr. James Houdeshell Excellence in Coaching Award — Mark Ritzler ’96.
Mark is a proud University of Findlay alumnus and former Oiler football student-athlete. After graduating from Findlay, he dedicated his career to education and coaching in our community.
From 2006 through 2019, he served as head football coach at Findlay High School, compiling a 74–68 record over 14 seasons and becoming the program’s all-time winningest head football coach.
In 2011, after leading the Trojans to a 10–2 record and a regional semifinal appearance, Mark was named the AP Division 1 State Coach of the Year. In he was named 2012 Northwest Ohio Coach of the Year, and during his tenure was recognized with multiple league coach of the year honors.
We are also pleased to share that University of Findlay Head Football Coach Tyler Johns will be in attendance.
Coach Johns looks forward to connecting with alumni and friends as he begins his leadership of Oiler Football.
