1980 Class Performance of "Love Letters"
1 p.m. | Old Main, Ritz Auditorium (click here for map view)
Join alums from the 1980 class as they recreate a performance on campus from 40 years ago. "Love Letters", a Pulitzer Prize-nominated play by A.R. Gurney, is a poignant play that peels back the layers of a lifetime of letters between two childhood friends who never managed to be life partners. Don’t miss the chance to experience the exceptional talent of our UF alumni!
About the alumni performing:
Ron Gephart is a 1980 UF graduate returning to Findlay with surreal delight to act under the direction of Jim Toth who was the director of the first play Ron ever appeared in. Ron’s roots in the Ritz Theatre go back to the 1920s when his grandparents, Dr. Herbert and Helen Now, were in Findlay College plays. Ron’s parents, Betty and Bob also frequented this theatre as did Ron after performing his first piano recital on the Ritz stage at the age of five. After moving to Memphis to pursue an MFA, Ron returned to Findlay in 1987 to direct for Barry Alexander’s summer stock theatre program. For 30 years, Ron was the Director of Theatre at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis. Since retiring ten years ago, Ron has been writing, directing, and acting in the mid-South. He has leading roles in several award-winning short films and the soon-to-be-released feature-length film, The Mark, shot in Atlanta. Ron's play, Someday for a Crown, based on his father's early onset of Alzheimer's disease, has had several productions. In addition to awards for acting and directing, Ron received the Eugart Yerian Award for lifetime achievement in Memphis theatre.

Tracey Huffman ’80 is thrilled to honor the late UF director Barry Alexander with this production of Love Letters. Findlay roles include Laura (Look Homeward Angel), Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing), and Lady Bracknell (The Importance of Being Earnest). Tracey received her M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco where she studied with Olympia Dukakis, Christopher Reeve, Wendell Pierce, Annette Bening and Denzel Washington.  She joined A.C.T.’s Professional Acting Company performing as Martine (The Learned Ladies) with Jean Stapleton and Sydney Walker, Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), and Ghost of Christmas Past (A Christmas Carol). Tracey taught acting and voice as a Resident Guest Artist at Cornell University and performed there as Beatrice (A View from the Bridge), Nurse Ratched (Cukoo’s Nest), Paulina (The Winter’s Tale) and Dolly Levi (The Matchmaker). In New York City she had the title role in Yokastas at LaMama E.T.C., Isabella (Measure for Measure) at Shetler Studios, Edward/Betty (Cloud 9) at Classic Stage Company, and Wife (Bury the Dead) at the historic Great Hall at Cooper Union. Tracey’s work includes dozens of television commercials and voiceovers for national brands. She is represented by New York’s CESD talent agency. Tracey is currently creating a podcast inspired by WWII Love Letters discovered at an estate sale. Tracey has toured professionally in 37 states and is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
